Spending behaviour

Vaultedness

The flip side of Liveliness: what fraction of Bitcoin's accumulated supply "age" remains vaulted rather than spent (Vaultedness = 1 − Liveliness).

Why it matters

A view complementary to Liveliness — it rises when the supply behaves more like "savings" than "active circulation".

Build it yourself

The same pair of numbers as Liveliness — but here the protagonist is what stays "vaulted".

Vaultedness = 1 − (Coin-days destroyed ÷ Coin-days created)
Vaultedness

Liveliness (= 1 − Vaultedness):

Illustrative example numbers for practice — not real data.

How it's calculated, step by step

  1. That same day's Liveliness value is taken (cumulative coin-days destroyed ÷ cumulative coin-days created — see the Liveliness indicator).
  2. Vaultedness = 1 − Liveliness.
Descriptive. The same slow, whole-history indicator as Liveliness, just viewed from the other side.
